Travel back in time with me for a minute.
Nearly three years ago, the elders of Mosaic announced that we would be spending the year focusing on, talking about, programming for, and actually practicing prayer. Though some of you had not yet called Mosaic home back in 2023, I will say that all of you are the direct recipients of Mosaic’s growth in this discipline.
It’s now 2025 and guess what? We are still out here praying. And I must say, as I think about the next 5, 10, 15 years of life at Mosaic, I am confident that this will never change. I pray that we will be a people who hear the call of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray without ceasing” and make every effort to walk alongside the Holy Spirit to make that a reality.
We are committed to providing regular opportunities for you to practice prayer and approach the throne of grace alongside a faithful brother or sister in Christ.
Firstly, we will continue to invite you to come forward to pray with elders, staff, and deacons during the Sunday service so you might feel the comfort of praying with one another.
Secondly, we will encourage you to prioritize both personal and communal prayer as a consistent rhythm within your Mosaic Group so you can confidently live out the call to bear one another’s burdens.
Thirdly, Mosaic will have at least two more, church-wide prayer nights this year to give you an outlet to pray for one another, our church, our world, and the nations. Our next one will be on Sunday, October 5th at 4pm.
Finally, we will offer occasional chances for men and women to gather with one another for the expressed purpose of brotherly and sisterly confession, encouragement, and prayer. In fact, one month from now will be our next Mosaic Men’s Prayer Night.
Brothers, you need to pray. You to be prayed over. You need to stand next to your brother in Christ and pray for him. We need to pray for our marriages, children, friends, neighbors, schools, jobs, country, and so much more. We need prayer.
Sisters, encourage the men in your life to take this call seriously and invite them to set aside the time for them to make this night happen. I thank you in advance for your loving sacrifice on their behalf.
Prayer is not just a spiritual recommendation, it’s an ongoing expression of our desperate need for Christ and his promised resolution to hear every word, bottle every tear, and care for every soul. We all need it. We. All. Need. It.
