Local Serve Weekend - Toward the end of the year we get together for a D-Now styled weekend with an emphasis on service and local ministry. Our winter local serve weekend is with Operation Christmas Child, where we will team up with other churches around DFW to pack shoeboxes with gifts and discipleship materials to be sent to children and families all over the world. This gives our students an opportunity to share in a larger cooperative church effort that is both local in its representation and global with its aim and impact.
We are waiting for the group registration to open up so we are hoping our December 9th day sticks. Our shift will be determined mid-October.
The processing center is in Coppell. We will spend the night Friday in two host homes (girls in one home / boys in another home) with the appropriate number of leaders and adult supervision. We will have dinner and activities Friday night with a strict lights out rule. In the morning we will provide breakfast before we caravan over to Coppell to work our packing shift. Lunch and pick up info will be determined soon as host homes are our time slot is decided.
$20 per person to participate.
